Hellenic Exchanges S.A. is a holding company for a number of organizations that support the structure and the operation of the capital market in Greece. The Group operates the cash, derivatives and bond markets, carries out clearing and settlement of the Athens Exchange transactions, is responsible for administration of the Dematerialized Securities System (DSS) and for registry systems, as well as provides the Greek capital market with information technology solutions. It has a 100% stake in Athens Exchange S.A. and a 99.9% stake in Thessaloniki Stock Exchange Center. The Company activated a common trading platform along with the Cyprus Stock Exchange as of October 30, 2006. During the fiscal year ended in December 31, 2007, the Group introduced the new Alternative Market of the Athens Stock Exchange (EN.A.).
