The Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund (drv Bund) performs a double function. On one hand, it is responsible for primary and cross-sectional tasks and matters that are common to all the pension insurance agencies and, in this regard, it is the successor to the former Verband Deutscher Rentenversicherungsträger. The Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund also has pension insurance fund obligations to fulfil. With regard to the latter aspect, it provides services to customers of the former Bundesversicherungsanstalt für Angestellte - Federal Insurance Institution for Salaried Employees.
Needs & Benefits
With the Nexus suite a central CA platform was established for the separate management of the federal organisation and all 50 pension insurance agencies.
With this infrastructure the drv Bund was able to issue and manage multi-functional ID cards (with PKI and RFID functions) for 50,000 employees in a very short period of time.
Today this platform is integrated in a complex IT infrastructure.
